AD SUMUS and UMAR organized an awareness-raising event on domestic violence

On April 23, the Santo Amaro Cultural and Youth Center hosted an informational session dedicated to combating domestic violence. The initiative was organized by AD SUMUS, in partnership with UMAR (Alternative Women’s Union and Response), as part of efforts to promote fundamental rights.

The event, which began at 2:30 p.m., brought together members of the local community with the aim of deepening collective understanding of a phenomenon that remains one of today’s greatest social challenges. During the session, experts from both organizations discussed the mechanisms of violence in detail, empowering citizens to recognize warning signs early on.

This partnership between AD SUMUS and UMAR reinforces the importance of networking in supporting vulnerable populations. By combining AD SUMUS’s community outreach with UMAR’s historical expertise on gender issues and women’s rights, the initiative succeeded in creating a safe and informative space for discussion.
