Our Mission

Its missionary principles, aligned with its statutory objectives, define the purpose and impact that the association wishes to achieve, whether in the cultural, social or educational field. With this in mind, the association’s main objectives are: a) Support for children and young people, including children and young people in danger; b) Support for the family; c) Support for the elderly; d) Support for social and community integration e) Social protection of citizens in the event of illness, old age, disability and death, as well as in all situations of lack or diminished means of subsistence and ability to work.

The Association will pursue all activities that directly or indirectly relate to the following objectives: a) To develop cooperation and solidarity between its members, under the terms of the Law and the Statutes, on the basis of carrying out initiatives relating to the problem of Immigration between them and other public or private entities; b)To defend and promote the rights and interests of immigrants and their descendants in everything that concerns their valorization, in order to allow their full integration and insertion; c)To develop social and cultural actions to support immigrants and their descendants, with a view to improving their living conditions; d)To promote and stimulate the personal, cultural and social capacities of immigrant communities and their descendants, with a view to strengthening relations with the host society; e) Propose actions necessary for the prevention or cessation of acts and omissions by public or private entities that constitute racial discrimination; f)Establish exchanges with similar associations abroad or promote joint information or training actions.

Based in the municipality of Almada, it is a non-profit association, made up of individuals, which seeks to focus on the principle of solidarity, with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as a fundamental reference for its action. It was recognized as an association in July 2018, being considered by the former High Commissioner for Migration I.P (ACM), as an association representing immigrants and their descendants, for the purposes of Law no. 155/99, of August 3, having acquired IPSS status in February 2023.

The association seeks to cover the most diverse aspects: (in)training, personal empowerment, education, employability, culture, social and solidarity. The different projects in which it is involved and/or leads are indicative of the way in which it is integrated into the area in which it operates.
