Community Health Screening for refugees and adult migrants in vulnerable situations
On November 22, 2025, Caparica-Trafaria will host a new edition of Free Community Screening, an initiative aimed at refugees and adult migrants in particularly vulnerable situations, promoting equitable access to essential healthcare.
The initiative is promoted by the Egas Moniz School of Health & Science and the Almada City Council, in partnership with the Portuguese Society for Health Literacy (SPLS), AD SUMUS – Almada Immigrants Association, Espaço “SUMUS” Cidadãos, GAT Almada, and the Portuguese League Against Cancer. The initiative is part of the ACOLHER Program, a pioneering national project that aims to promote health among vulnerable communities.
During the morning, participants will have access to several free assessments, namely:
- Cardiorespiratory health
- Diabetes, cholesterol, and hypertensionMental health and well-being
- Oral healthNutritional health
- Sexual health
Participation is completely free and open to the community.
