Afternoon of Reflection: Education, Assertiveness, and Preventing Violence Against Children
On November 8th, the Maria Lamas Library hosted a session dedicated to Education, Assertiveness, and the Prevention of Violence Against Children. The session is part of the Nha Codê project, run by AD SUMUS within the framework of the Immigrant Associations Support Program (PAAI).
The activity, led by Dr. Carla from the Association of Health and Solidarity of the Cape Verdean Diaspora (ASSDCV), provided a moment of reflection on how we communicate with children and the impact this communication has on shaping their identity and development as future adults. The session also addressed the importance of the father figure and the main challenges parents face during their children’s adolescence.
This initiative emphasizes the value of education based on respect and effective communication, helping to prevent violence and supporting families in creating safer and more balanced environments.
